family of three decides to leave their home in Switzerland and start traveling full-time.

We finally made that decision to just do it. To stop looking for problems and instead make them happen. I think it was around March that we decided that this winter we will not spend in Switzerland but rather start our traveling journey.

I and Noah are now together for over 6 years. We both knew pretty early in our partnership that we wanted to travel. We made some bigger trips but somehow emigration never really happened. We always talked about it, watch documentaries, read books, and discussed our travel plans. For a long time, we were fixed on buying a van and hit the road. We had to do list and had several talks about how we should just start this journey. But it never started. the moment we found out we were pregnant we both agreed that we will settle first after the baby is born and reevaluate after he has arrived where we wanted to shift things.

I'm not sure how the conversation started, but somehow we both agreed that we are now settled with this new form of life and are ready to discuss how we want to move along. The dream of traveling and freedom behind it was still present. Maybe even stronger. It had to because otherwise, I think we wouldn't decide to leave. so we concluded that now is the perfect time for us to start this adventure. Why wait, why postpone? So we sat together and agreed that this is it, we will emigrate by the end of the year and start our traveling.

The decision has been made

For us to move this plan along we wanted to make it as easy as possible. No big preparation, just start and then adjust where necessary. So for us, this meant that we will travel in our car and look for suitable accommodation along the way. We both knew that since we will be on the road with our then 1.5 years old son, we will travel slowly. No rush to get anywhere, no need to be on the road for hours. Little by little moving forward and discovering new places.

So currently there is honestly nothing big to prepare for our adventure. The biggest part of it is giving up our apartment and therefore most of our stuff. And then it's just sitting in the car and hitting the road. Of course, there will be some administrational things that we have to take care of, but also nothing major. We are in the middle of trying to get rid of our belongings, deciding which things we will keep and which things will go.

A few days ago we decided on a first route and direction. We will start driving facing Bordeaux (France) and then drive down at the coast till we get to south Portugal. This is our vague route. We don't yet have our first stop and accommodation but I hope we can find something within the next few months.

Come along wiht us

We started this blog because we wanted to document our journey and be an inspiration to others. To be bold and chase the dreams you have, even with a baby :) We will take you along during our adventure and keep you updated.

We are very excited about this new path we will take and can't wait for all the experiences that there are to be made.
